Once again you have put on a great show. I have listened to every episode and your show gets better and better. Very cool medal from the Patriot Triathlon. I am looking to do a triathlon in late 2010 and I would like to know if you can recommend a bike to use. I don't need anything special since this would be my first race. I have a mountain bike and I average about 45-50 miles a week. I want to get a road bike. Also, I love the music the song that opens and closes your show. I also have to ask, will you be doing another show with your wife? That was a very good episode. Sorry for rambling. Thanks B. Jaydog

    Thanks so much Jay!,

If you really want to, there is no reason why you can't get some slick tires for your mountain bike and use that. However, if you want a road bike, but don't want to spend too much, I would suggest this: Go to a bike shop and have them size you for a bike, base on your height and the way your body is set up. Then, keep an eye on Craigslist in your area, searching by the size. There are very often some good deals to be had.

If you want to go new, and can afford to spend a bit, I would strongly suggest the Z series from Felt (” target=”_blank”>Reply

    Hello Brandon:

This was a great show! Wow, it was nifty that you had a chance to meet the guys from Newton shoes. They are unique in the way they treat customers. Back in the fall, when I had concerns about their shoes, "Tory" from Newton shoes could not have been more helpful and knowledgeable.

As an early morning runner, I enjoyed the list of reasons to consider running at that part of the day. I do enjoy running after I have eaten, so I have a cup of protein whey shake before going to bed. Upon rising, I drink water and a half a cup of coffee. This seems to provide me with enough energy to do an hour's run. THEN, I devour breakfast. (Oatmeal, usually.) A run before breakfast is twice a run. Breakfast after a run is twice a breakfast. (You should have broken into song: "Oh, What A Beautiful Morning".

Glad to hear that you got the singing gig.

Thanks again for all the news and insight. You keep us running. This podcast was "Brandorrific".

    Joe
