Great points Ari! I was just getting on my friend Amanda about not eating before she runs in the morning. She doesn't eat a thing and then wonders why she feels sick afterward!! As a matter of fact, she even had to call out sick one day!!

  • Agreed, it is a very tough balance. I find myself, a lot of the time, not getting to bed early enough to warrant waking up for long rides. After all, rest is as important as any other part of training.

I hear you on giving yourself time to wake up, that seems to make all the difference. The big problem is timing. I was out the door and running 16 minutes after I woke up this morning… had I given myself 30 minutes to wake up, I would have either been late to work, or slightly sleep deprived. It's a tough balance!
