Agreed, it is a very tough balance. I find myself, a lot of the time, not getting to bed early enough to warrant waking up for long rides. After all, rest is as important as any other part of training.

Yes, yes….I called in sick one day for work, because I mistook my nausea for a virus that has been going around, when really my blood sugar was just low. tee hee I will eat from now on.

I hear you on giving yourself time to wake up, that seems to make all the difference. The big problem is timing. I was out the door and running 16 minutes after I woke up this morning… had I given myself 30 minutes to wake up, I would have either been late to work, or slightly sleep deprived. It's a tough balance!
