hi brandon, i missed the live podcast this past week, things have been busy nearing the end of the semester. I am leaving early to go to nicaragua for a race on dec. 12th! I ran a trail 10k last sunday which was a blast! perfect day, perfect weather. the race went really well, I can tell my training is paying off. it was a very hilly course and my legs did not fatigue. I ended up winning second in my age group for women! plus i won a huge container of melon HEED so it was awesome. happy running!

Brandon – Wanted to leave a race report from Rock n Roll San Antonio. I too have been working with @coachprs and he had me in the best running shape of my short running career. This was my second half, I did my first in February and went from the couch to 1/2 in 10 weeks, very unprepared for the race, but I finished.

I really wanted to kill this half. I started out OK, hit my first split dead on and was a minute or so behind on the second 5k, then the 80 degree temps and 80% humidity shot my wheels off!! Had a total flame out at 8.5 miles. I was running super slow and couldn’t get my HR out of zone 4. Yikes!! I ended with a PR, but not the effort I was expecting, and certainly not the effort I was prepared to run. Well, I’ll just have run another :)

A little about the race. This was my first RnR event. It well organized and the start, although a long wait to get to my corral, was good in the aspect that we were running from the get go. The expo was good and actually fun to walk through. The course is very flat. 2 hills of any consequence, one at mile 5 followed by a long down hill, and the finish a short, but steep uphill to the line. The town support was amazing. It was really cool to run through down town with literally tens of thousands people cheering you on. A nice overall and I just wish the weather would have been cooler. Good luck in Philly!! Congrats on the baby chica!!

    Brandon,

My wife and I had just found out that she was five weeks pregnant with our second child, then I load up your podcast and hear you are expecting as well. Congratulations!!! Your child will be blessed to have a father who is so positive.
