Brandon, I know you know but I want to remember you that Zomegnan planned that the next Giro will start from Amsterdam (with 3 stages in Holland and all the next in Italy). The 2009's edition had a stage in Austria, the 2008 a stage in Switzerland, the 2007 a stage in France and a stage in Austria, the 2006 four stages in Belgium and so on. I think it's just marketing: new roads makes people talk more about the Giro and the sponsors may pay more. I am very sorry for this image (another one - sigh) that Italy gives for itself in the World. I love my country but, day after day, I don't like most of our managers/politicians and so on.

Sure why not? And while we're at it, how about a "Tour de World"? A mega six-week stage race with a week's worth of stages on each continent? 6 days in North America (3 in the US, 2 in Canada, 1 in Mexico?), 6 in South America, 6 days in Europe, 6 in Asia, Australia, and Africa. Why not? I mean, who cares about logistics, right?

(just demonstrating absurdity by being absurd)
