About the Run: After yesterday’s half-marathon PR, I knew that today would be a nice, easy run and most likely very short. There was no run assigned today, so it was up to me what I did. I headed out, after having to wait a while for the torrential rain and wind to subside. It was a rather warm for January and it was quite a nice change. My legs actually felt very good and only a bit sore. I made up my mind to only do just over a mile early on in my run and headed back home. Overall, nothing terribly special and it felt good to get out and stretch my legs.
Well done for continuing your daily running. What a great challenge. Keep it up.
Have you ever heard of Ron Hill. He is a Bristish runner, winner of the Boston Marathon in 1970, 2nd person to break 2:10 and all round good guy (I met him and he was so nice, giving me so much time to talk to him).
This is all impressive but what I find amazing is his streak. He has a running streak where he hasn’t missed a day running since December 1964. He is now 72 and still continues to run at least 1 mile each day. He had a car crash in 93 where he ran with a broken sternum. That is dedication.
I actually have heard of him. It is truly amazing.
