Congrats to you and your wife for your beautiful daughter! Well done!
I agree 100% with you, on your soapbox. Its sad that anyone could write something so mean spirited. Thank you for standing up to it…and for being a voice for the rest of us who love running and love every runner. I can’t imagine having such a pretentious attitude. When I cross the finish line at my next race (Boston, on 4/19), it will be with arms raised!
I had to catch up on your podcasts and listened to this one this morning at 5am on my way to a 15k race. I LOVED your “birth report”, thank you so much for sharing so much detail. I truly felt like I was listening to a story. By the time I got to my race location to meet my friends, I was all red from crying!!! As you said, your wife Danielle is truly amazing. I don’t have children, but my hat is off to those women who have. I was able to watch my sister deliver my nephew and that was truly a life changing experience.
I’m so happy to know Mommy and Baby are both doing well, and I love Sydney’s name, and she is just beautiful! Thanks again for sharing!
Today’s Race Report:
Last January, I set out to lose weight, about 30 lbs. I was size 14 and hating it. So I decided to start running again (hadn’t really run since 1996). I set my first sights to do a 15k, since that was the last race I did in 1996. So Feb. 2009, I did the 15k in 1:51.
While I’ve done other races since then (5k, half & full marathon), I had not done a 15k since, so my goal was to beat that time from last year, which I felt confident about.
The race was the IronGirl 15 at Clearwater Beach. There’s a huge bridge that we had to run over, and being in FL we don’t have many hills, so I hadn’t trained for this. Weather was beautiful!
Well I finished in 1:31 so I smashed my previous 5k time and now wear a comfortable size 4!
Just had to share! Thanks for continuing to do such great podcasts, and I hope to listen live again soon! – Tia
