Worst (For You) Beverages in America

I just ran across this list from the popular Men’s Health feature, Eat This, Not That. Not only does this list break down the calories, fats and sugars in each “drink”, but it goes on to give you an analogy to each beverage. For example, one (1) twenty (20) ounce bottle of Sobe Green Tea contains 240 calories and 61 grams of sugar. That is equivalent to eating 4 slices of Sara Lee Cherry Pie! HOLY CRAP!

I can’t believe the calorie count of the Cold Stone PB&C, 2,010 calories. That’s more than more than most people eat in a day. Nothing like good old H2O.

That list was uh-mazing. It’s crazy that there is a market for this stuff. Well, not really considering how out of shape this country is. My rule of thumb is <7 g of sugar per meal (incl snacks).

even stuff like prepared spaghetti sauce has a lot of sugar in it, you really have to read labels.

Very true! I think it’s also important for us to know that there is a pretty big difference in the TYPES of sugar in things. Raw sugar is not so bad! In fact, I probably have a TON of sugar every day in the form of fruit. I snack on apples oranges and such all day long!
