A big, belated congratulations on breaking the 100 podcast mark! I was in Denmark when Episode 100 aired. I’ve been catching up. Your podcast has certainly helped me love running more. I have been a “loyal listener” since Episode 10. Thanks to you, I am a “Newton Runner”. I must have the only pair of Newton shoes in the state of Michigan! I am preparing for the Crim 20 mile race in Flint, Michigan and will also run the Half Marathon at the Free Press Detroit Marathon later this fall. Again, thanks for all you do.
Congrats on breaking the 2:15 mark. I imagine that will be especially important as the NYC Triathlon goes to a lottery system next year. Will that mean that you can automatically get into the race without going through the lottery?
My other thought on next year is that you’ll be able to get into the elite wave – which means less of a log jam as people are leaving the water and heading into T1. Will you get a better rack placement as well?
Let me know about this stuff so I can live vicariously through your new elite status!
Your description of swallowing the salt water was terrifying. I’m sure your Infinit Nutrition mix is already balanced for electrolytes, so the additional salt intake probably threw things off quite a bit. I’m glad you were able to focus and get through it.
