Hey Brandon! Great show as usual. Loved the reflective ending.
Don’t know what happened to you yet. I followed you as far as I could on the I’m tracking site. Can’t wait to hear about it. Way to go on a gutsy call to live to race another day.
Well, this is now the last podcast of the month, so STUFFITS!!!
Hi mate,
Long time since I commented but I never miss a show. Great race report and last podcast, really enjoyed it. Just sorry that your body let you down in this case.
By the way if this comment wins the “stuffitts” just email what the postage is to the UK and I’ll stick it in with a donation on the site and let’s see if we can get you to Philly. Love to the family
Maybe its just me? I can’t seem to find episode 108 on iTunes? Can’t wait to hear it!
Love the show, would love to win some stuffits, too!
Thanks, Melissa
It sometimes takes Itunes about 24 hours before it picks up new episodes. It\’s totally an Apple thing, though they have gotten better at it. Also, it\’s now up!!

Brandon – great show last night. That was the first one I have listened live to. I’m sure revisiting Louisville wasn’t easy, but it was really so valuable to those of us listening in. Thanks for sharing it all – and keep up the great work!
B,
I was devesated to hear about your result in L’Ville. All you can do now is figure out what went wrong and look ahead to the next race. Keep up the great work.
Great show Brandon. Wish the race had have gone how it was supposed to for you, but there is always next time. Thanks a ton for all the Newton talk, I am SO happy to have them and I never would have considered it if not for your show..
Thanks, Brandon, for sharing your race report. I found it to be inspirational…especially the part about living for the next day. The journey, the people, all the experiences….they make you the athlete you are now. And you will live to fight another day!
Oh Brandon- I’m so sorry to hear about Louisville after all of your hard work. The only thing I can say is what I said to a friend of mine who DNF’d at Placid this year: It sucks that we spend a year training for something & then pin all of your hopes & dreams on a single day when anything can go wrong. So sorry it happened to you this race. I have no doubt that your next IM will be incredible!
Yeah Danielle! I’m with you! I totally get it when you say that you can’t just run and the weight falls off. If I want to lose weight, I have to be so careful with my intake, and be very diligent about getting my miles in. From my all-time high, I’m down by about 60 lbs (give or take… depends on the day). But I’d still like to lose another 25-30 lbs. I am a slow runner, and would love to get faster, and I hope the extra weight loss will help. Actually, the more I run, the harder it is to lose, because I just get hungrier. Then it’s a vicious cycle (appetite increases, I eat more, skip exercising for a few days… you get the picture!) So, count me in!
Brandon – that’s a really strange story. I hope you are able to figure out what was going on with your body before your next event. It’s weird. I have felt the feeling of the bugs crawling under my skin after some long runs… but I don’t think there were any visual effects. I always thought it was just the feeling of my blood pumping through my muscles during recovery. Probably nothing like what happened to you, but it was a weird feeling. Good luck next time!!!
Hey Brandon! Once again, thank you for sharing your story how ever hard it might have been. We all felt like we were right there with you. You are still an inspiration!
Thanks for sharing your story on IMLou! I hope you can figure out what went wrong, if only for your peace of mind!! Good luck with what is next!!! We will all be cheering for you!!
I love the photo of the “Journey is the Reward” sign. I had this engraved on a cuff bracelet for my husband back in 2008 – he almost never takes it off
Thank you for posting your IM race report. It’s a great reminder of just how challenging this sport can be and offers a good lesson on listening to your body.
